The institution was created in 1979 as a way of boosting the national segment of records and publications, as a result of the government's vision of empowering agents linked to the world of letters and music from a suitable place for the production of their creative works.
Reopened in 2000, after a process of rehabilitation and equipping, Endipu was involved in the production of the albums "Chegou a Hora" by Versáteis, "Malamba" by Trio Kussanguluka, "Makumba Gostosa" by Toy Kazevo, "Kiezos" by Kiezos, and "Memórias de Luanda" by various artists, and "Andamba Avuidi" by the folk group Konono Molende.
Underwent restructuring in 2016, on the initiative of the coordinator of the management commission of the National Disc and Publications Company (Endipu), Nicolau Diogo.
