De Klassieken

The Series 'De Klassieken' (Dutch for 'The Classics') actually consists of at least 5 subscription series for the Dutch market in the Dutch language. Also see The Classics. 1. A Series from the 1970's with different covers, depicted with composers on coloured backgrounds. The albums could be stored in green boxes, with the title “De Klassieken” printed on them. 2. A series from 1978 consisting of 44 LP's by Philips and Decca. This series had paintings from the naive style on the front cover, but no numbering. The introductory LP has catalog# 6542 380 and the series 6596 015 to 6596 058. 3. The same series as no. 2 but all volumes are numbered from 1 to 44. The artwork covers of these LP's are depicted with composer heads on a light surface. The complete series could be stored in four blue boxes, each containing 11 LP's. 4. A following series of 44 LP's, also numbered from 1 to 44, to be stored in 4 red boxes. The artwork covers of these LP's are depicted with composer heads on a dark surface. 5. A fifth series of 60 LP's, to be stored in three boxes, with covers containing paintings in a romantic style. All albums have a catalogue number between 411 200-1 and 411 260-1.
