"Dragon Ball Z: Complete Song Collection", originally released exclusively in Japan in 2003, collects the majority of the tracks from the Japanese CD-release series "Dragon Ball Z Hit Song Collection" (ドラゴンボールZヒット曲集) from 1989-1996, one bonus track from “Never Ending Story”, and various extra tracks from additional CD singles and video game soundtracks released after the completion of the “Hit Song Collection”.
