Castaways Lounge
Настоящее имя: Castaways Lounge
Defunct Kansas City, Missouri lounge that functioned as home base for local folk groups during the height of the early 1960s folk scene. The motif of the Castaways was something like Disneyland's "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride, to the point where papier-mache palm trees decorated the interior, and beach sand was spread here and there. Kansas City group The Surfriders (5) were the regular band playing the club before Randy Sparks recruited away the members to The New Christy Minstrels and The Back Porch Majority. The Castaways, suddenly left without entertainment, hired The Bluemont Singers to play out the month, then occasionally on the weekends and the following summer. Both groups have recordings that were recorded at the Castaways.
