Swiss rights society for the licensing of sound carriers, established in 1923. The rights relating to the public performance of works were handled by GEFA (Gesellschaft für Aufführungsrechte), set up the following year. Both institutions were fused under the one roof of Suisa in 1980. Prior to 1923, Swiss artists' copyrights were handled by a branch of French Sacem in Switzerland.
