The Venue opened in London's Victoria in 1978, owned by Virgin records and styled on The Bottom Line in New York .
Before it's occupancy by Virgin it was The Metropole Cinema and provided the setting for a scene in David Lean's 1945 classic 'Brief Encounter'.
Half supper club and half trendy nightclub, you could eat there and see bands as diverse as Suzi Quatro, Dan Hicks, [a180921] and The Sun Ra Arkestra
The premises were subsequently occupied by an Italian restaurant chain, 'Ask'.
