PAI - Argentine and International Productions

The PAI phonographic label (Producciones Argentinas e Internacionales) works in the field of Argentine and Latin American music, with more than 300 original recordings by more than 70 artists/performers. Folklore and tango have been its permanent emblems, with more than a thousand recorded songs in its catalogue, an extensive history as a company recognized in the artistic environment and by entities in the field (SADAIC, CAPIF, AADI), and a vocation sustained independent production company. Despite the difficulties experienced in recent decades by the country in general, and by the phonographic market in particular, PAI maintains to its credit one of the few most complete collections of traditional Argentine folk dances, whose musical expressions cover the national geography from the Patagonia to the North and the Coast, from the Pampa to Cuyo, and are reproduced daily in the majority of academies, institutes and clubs dedicated to the teaching and dissemination of folklore. Since 1996, the PAI company imposed a process of change, which involved both the expansion of its catalog and a determined concentration on the new currents that Argentine musicians were beginning to generate in Buenos Aires; movement that inherited, on the one hand, the strong internationalization of tango in those years and, on the other, the incorporation of new generations of artists, composers and performers who came with their experiences from jazz, classical music and contemporary folklore/tango. . In this way, PAI renewed its catalog, modernizing it both in the quality of its artists and their recordings and in the design and presentation of their works. In recent years, agreements have been signed with different companies for the digital distribution of a large part of the catalog.
