Dutch broadcasting museum that was opened for the public in 1983 located in a villa on the Melkpad in Hilversum. In 1993 it moved to a larger premises on the Oude Amersfoortseweg in Hilversum, sharing the location with the NOB. The archive function of the Nederlands Omroepmuseum eventually merged in 1997 with several other audio/visual archives into
Nederlands Audiovisueel Archief which in turn changed its name in 2002 to Nederlands Instituut Voor Beeld En Geluid. The museum closed its doors for the public in 2002 and re-opened in a new building in 2006.
