Homar
Настоящее имя: Homar
Homar UK was created in Sheffield when Howard and Marek got together to promote talented unsigned musicians in 1989.
The great Sheffield CD featuring 18 new acts was released in the summer of that year. Its main aim was to promote the acts to local/national radio, the music press and record label A&R departments.
Homar UK then promoted the CD acts at MIDEM, the international music expo in Cannes, France and at The New Music Seminar in New York.
Homar UK worked with Ian C Burden of Human League fame to realise his first solo album, Loot. They then collaborated with Access Music to promote the locally well known ‘Sharp Cuts’ to a bigger audience.
Don Valley and the Rotherhides, a well known Sheffield band then asked Homar UK to help with the release of their LP ‘Quiet Flows the Don’.
Finally, in 1991 Homar UK, in collaboration with the long established independent ‘Record Collector’ store brought to fruition ‘The Mourning After’ LP.
Fast forward 20 years to 2011 - Homar UK is rebooted for the internet age and its mission to promote talented musicians to a wider audience remains the same.
