Mawson Base

Mawson Base is Australia’s first Antarctic continental station and the longest continuously operating station south of the Antarctic Circle. It is a permanent station maintained by the Australian Antarctic Division of the Australian Government Department of the Environment, and is situated on an isolated outcrop of rock on the coast in MacRobertson Land, at the edge of the Antarctic plateau.
