Black Heart Music
Настоящее имя: Black Heart Music
Black Heart Music was an Australian backyard recording label that existed for a brief moment in the early 1990's. Inspired by the 'kicking against the pricks' philosphy of Oz Indi labels, Black Heart took it one step further by seeking out emerging indigenous artists that were struggling to be seen and heard authentically in a musical landscape dominated by corporate opportunism and greed.
The first EP by Tiddas, 'Inside My Kitchen', was conceived and compiled in a Bondi Beach semi in late 1992. The artists, manager, friends and ABC cohorts formed a working party that epitomised the spirit of that time. High rotation radio play ensued and Australia had a new set of sweethearts.
The EP was a resounding success, of course. Unfortunately Black Heart Music was not prepared for such a quick success trajectory and subsequently were over-run by the major label interest that followed.
Tiddas remain arguably one of the most significant artists in post-modern Australian pop history. Their unique feminist and cross-cultural commentaries on politics, love, and loss, present a loving, challenging and intimate account of life that cuts to the core of all who are affected by their magical music.
