SITTING ZEN RECORDS

Sitting Zen Records was founded in 1997 by American born experimental musician/audio engineer, Dawn Armstrong (New Dawn Rising). The label served as a promotions arm when (New Dawn Rising) and her fellow musical collective: (Tangier Space Draft), began to perform live, trade, sell and distribute cassette tapes, DVDs, and CDs of their studio and live performances. Sitting Zen Records was heavily influenced by DIY punk and underground labels such as Dischord Records and Bluurg Records, and maintains the DIY attitude and ethical approach to aggressive self-promotion. Currently, Artist (New Dawn Rising) continues to use the Sitting Zen Records name and logo when promoting and releasing new projects.
