Fiftypointfour Recordings
Настоящее имя: Fiftypointfour Recordings
Fiftypointfour Recordings was formed after a chance meeting at Eastern Bloc Records in Manchester, 2002. Sean Holland was on a trip around the country distributing 12" singles for his old label DNA Recordings. Although the track he was distributing was a trance orientated track he had written with co-producers Tom Costelloe and Scott Mac he was searching out new tracks for his own DJ sets which at that time where the progressive sounds pioneered by Lexicon Avenue, Barry Gilbey and the like. Enter Dave Muirhead, currently working as 360 and at that time Label Manager for Eatern Bloc. Dave and Sean immediatley recognised the same passion for music in each other and over the next couple of years kept in contact and DJ'd for each other in Plymouth and Manchester.
David's work with fellow producer Kev Caroll as thought disorder resulted in the track "Onimusha" featuring Clare Canty (Lucid). With Sander Kleinenberg and Sasha both spinning the demo at Creamfields it seemed the perfect time to form what is now Fiftypointfour Recordings. An incredible remix by Lewis Hopkin, (Airgap Recordings) finished the package and the label was born.
As music started to change direction and heavily influenced by Lexicon Avenues "Echomen" projects Thought Disorder became Headz. The projects produced by Headz can all be found in Fiftypointfours back catalogue and include "Wait for you, featuring Azeem" which was licensed to Chus and Ceballlos' Stereo Cool Recordings
After a short hiatus due to various personal circumstances Fiftypointfour are entering a new phase of activity. With the official and overdue release of Headz "Invisible" with another stunning vocal from Clare Canty as the starting point early in 2010 new projects are incoming. Expect to see tracks from 360, Tom Costelloe, Sean Holland and new artists.
