His albums are classics, and he himself is considered a creative genius and exceptional trumpet player. One album stands out in particular: 'Kind Of Blue'. Everything about this album is magical. It starts with an incredible line-up. Besides Miles Davis, Julian 'Cannonball' Adderley, Paul Chambers, James Cobb, John Coltrane, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly play. 'Kind Of Blue' is considered THE album of modal jazz par excellence and is also the most commercially successful jazz album of all time. In 1959, the year of its creation, the record was one of the first stereo LPs ever. Due to its cultural and historical significance for the United States, the album was entered into the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2003. On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, 'Kind Of Blue' was honored by the United States House of Representatives with a resolution of its own in 2009. 'Kind Of Blue' is one of the highest rated albums in the history of music and received sky-high ratings from Rolling Stone, the Penguin Guide to Jazz, Allmusic and Pitchfork, among others. Rolling Stone listed 'Kind of Blue' as number 12 in their '500 Best Albums of All Time!'
