Примечание: Anticipated by the singles “I poveri hanno fame i ricchi hanno appetito” and “Tu puttana tuttora”, Gianfranco Di Gennaro‘s album marks his solo debut as contemporary folk-rock singer-songwriter, with lyrics in Italian! Born in 1979 in Nocera Inferiore, near Salerno, Gianfranco Di Gennaro comes from a family who always had a love for music – both his father and his grandfather played in a local orchestra. Among his first music interest there were Neapolitan songs and playing drums: still in his teenage years, he started playing in bands as a drummer, and then moved to guitar and to singing and songwriting. After moving in Northern Italy, in Verona, Gianfranco adds brit-rock to his influcences and records the EP “Something Wrong” with a band called Beatween, as composer, singer and guitar player. “Gas Same lane” is his first self-produced solo venture, in 1998. In the 2000s he switches back to singing and writing in Italian and after joining more bands (Morning Julia, Scaligera Criminale) in 2014 starts working on his new debut album as solo singer, “Ricomincio da Zero” (Kutmusic), produced by Gionata Lao and released in 2015. Tracks from the album were published as digital singles on Kutmusic, and as an appearance on “Non esiste solo De Gregori Vol.1”, a compilation of new singer-songwriters from Italy, released by Vrec. Di Gennaro’s style is a contemporary folk melange featuring Italian lyrics and influences from British folk music.
