Tom Sorrells

Tom Sorrells got his start playing in the St. Joseph, Missouri garage rock band Yellow Hair. In the late '70s in Kansas City, Missouri, Tom and Mark Prellberg created the power pop record label Titan Records (5), which saw releases from the late '70s and into the '90s. In the mid-'80s, Tom helped assemble the compilations of rare midwest garage rock recordings that would become the Monsters Of The Midwest compilation series. Around this same time, he also acquired the complete contents (including master recordings) of Cavern Studios (2) in Independence, MO. Cavern Studios recorded a slew of midwest artists from the late '60s to late '70s. A lot of this material was licensed to Numero Group (through Sorrells) in 2014 and 2015 as the source material for the compilations [r6163407] and [r6899232]. Numero Group also released the complete Titan Records collection on [r3177773].
