Sophie Burande

Originally from France. Born in Vichy (F) on 11 April 1981. Married Léonard Gogniat, they have two children. Sophie Burande holds a degree in Art History and Public Administration. After her studies, she spent a few weeks of the summer of 2007 picking fruit near Volonne, a village near Marseille in the south of France. One evening, she played the accordion on the terrace of a café and met Léonard Gogniat, from the Jura region, who was playing guitar in the same place. In 2008, the two amateur musicians spent six months working together in Paris. In 2009, Sophie Burande joined his partner in Delémont (Switzerland) and founded the musical group Carrousel (3). The duo recorded several albums, gave concerts and enjoyed remarkable success, including a second-place finish in the final competition to represent Switzerland at Eurovision 2013. She is co-author of several albums and regularly takes part in major music festivals in Switzerland and abroad.
