Los Melódicos (3)

Spanish group from Torrent - València - Spain. Active from 1959 to 1965. Los Melódicos (3), were born as "Los Caribes" in 1959, and debuted in the first days of March 1960 in Benetússer - València - Spain, and their artistic career lasted until 1965. At the Liceo de Torrent cinema, they agreed with the Duo Dinamico in 1960, and they shared countless finery with them. They played in all the towns of the province, or almost all, "bowling." They sang in exquisite places. Los Melódicos (3), were influenced by Ottilie Patterson, performed romantic songs, and dared to rock. They did not compose, but they did play original compositions lyrics by Rafael de León and covered numerous foreign songs. They were pioneers in introducing the sound of the flute into their melodies, and they acquired in installments, at the Lluquet House in Barón de Cárcer, the first electric guitars sold in Valencia. Only Los Caliope and Los Milos, the group of Bruno Lomas, used such sophisticated guitars. The Catalan record company Belter hired them exclusively for three years to record eight albums. In 1962 his first and only EP was released. The group's project was ruined by military service, and other contingencies. At the end of 1963, the vocalist "Pilar Garrido" (niece of Lolita Garrido famous bolero performer) and "Ángel Colomer", both from Valencia, joined the group. The whole resisted until 1965. Los Melódicos (3), nacieron como "Los Caribes" en 1959, y debutaron en los primeros días de marzo de1960 en Benetússer - València, y su trayectoria artística se prolongaría hasta 1965. En el cine Liceo de Torrent, coincidieron con el Duo Dinamico en 1960, y compartieron innumerables galas con ellos. Tocaron en to­dos los pueblos de la provincia, o casi todos, «haciendo bolos». Cantaban en lugares exquisitos. Los Melódicos (3), recibieron influen­cias de Ottilie Patterson, interpretaron canciones románticas, y se atrevieron con el rock. No llegaron a componer, pero sí tocaron composiciones originales letras de Rafael de León y versio­nearon numerosos temas extranjeros. Fueron pioneros en introducir el sonido de la flauta en sus melodías, y adquirieron a plazos, en la Casa Lluquet de Barón de Cárcer, las primeras guitarras eléctricas vendidas en València. Sólo Los Caliope y Los Milos, el conjunto de Bruno Lomas, utilizaban guitarras tan sofisticadas. La discográfica catalana Belter los contrató en exclusiva por tres años para grabar ocho discos. En 1962 sa­lía al mercado su primer y único EP. El proyecto del grupo dió al traste por culpa del servicio militar, y otras contingencias. A finales de 1963, se incorporaron al grupo la vocalista "Pilar Garrido" (sobrina de Lolita Garrido afamada intérpete de boleros) y "Ángel Colomer", ambos de València. El con­junto resistió hasta 1965.
