Roy Westray

Bluegrass Dobro player and luthier out of Cumming, GA who built 71 dobros before he passed away. Roy Eugene Westray, age 87, of Cumming passed , Feb. 18, 2015. He was born in Cumming and has lived there all his life. Roy retired from Sawnee EMC in 1991 after 34 years of service. Over the years, he received numerous recognitions and was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. has been practicing the art of bluegrass for more than 50 years. His Daughter, Frances Mooney, has followed his dedication to the bluegrass genre with her own band Frances Mooney & Fontanna Sunset.
