Christian Hendrickson

Christian was an amateur photographer during the 80's to 90's, living in Richmond, VA, where he still resides. Followed/roadie Jolly Mortals during their southwest/South tour in '93. He was also a tour driver/roadie for Bad Guy Reaction during their northeast tour. As well as [a587565] during their north East/West tour. Both tours were somewhere between '95 to '97. He also produced a zine called "Slow Death" which had interviews with the likes of The Nation Of Ulysses, [a1915923] and Sarabellum, among others. He helped produce Sister Sound first cassette release through the Slow Death zine. Also, produced a compilation cassette of bands from Williamsburg, VA. Became involved in the early 00's with a local pirate radio station and an internet only station. producing a Gothic/Industrial/experimental show. Became involved with early efforts to start a local LPFM non-profit radio station, being one of the five original founding members. That effort turned into WRIR-LP 97.3 FM. The station first broadcast on January 1st, 2005. Christian started with an Experimental/noise show there. That branched into an Electronica/freeform show. Which then turned into a Hip Hop show primarily focusing on unheard artists from around the world. During his time at WRIR Christian was also a member of the Board of Directors, fundraiser, Assistant Music Director for RPM and Hip Hop as well as unofficial promoter of the station. He left the station in 2014 due to burnout, and his son being born. He's currently satisfying his music fix by contributing to discogs. Both in new submissions and filling out information for artists from the RVA and Virginia area.
