Jon & The Australian Vamps

The Vamps were formed in1965 by Margaret Britt. They were the first all-female band playing professionally in Australia, and went through many lineup changes (at one time including bandmember Linda Cable). Jon And The Vamps was the mixed-gender iteration, renamed when Jon Kirk (2) joined the band, known as Jon & The Australian Vamps when performing in the USA. It is this lineup that released recordings. The Vamps would later change their name to [a3267540], and they had a sizeable hit in Australia with the single 'Substitute'. Margaret and Jon would later perform together as Skyz The Limit.
