Saul Striks

American pianist, singer and songwriter. Born December 8, 1924 Died c. December 1979. BMI IPI # 63226988. He began playing piano early in life in Detroit, Michigan, appearing with the Detroit Symphony three times at the age of nine. During the war, he spent four years in Naval Aviation, going on to study music at UCLA, which led him to meeting fellow redheads Robinson and Striks, and starting Somethin' Smith & The Redheads. He began the duo The Saloonatics with banjoist Ralph Guenther. They performed at local Cincinnati, Ohio clubs--the Old Saloon, The Gibson Girl Lounge, Joe's Bar at the Terrace Hilton, and the Lookout House among others.
